First Guaranty Bank and Trust Company of Jacksonville, Jacksonville, Florida, was closed January 27, 2012 by the Florida Office of Financial Regulation, which appointed the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) as receiver. To protect the depositors, the FDIC entered into a purchase and assumption agreement with CenterState Bank of Florida, National Association, Winter Haven, Florida, to assume all of the deposits of First Guaranty Bank and Trust Company of Jacksonville.
