$75 for New Checking Account at Bank of America
Jan 26, 2006 - 8:04 AM by Ken Tumin
Bank of America is offering $75 check when you open a new MyAccess checking account with at least $50. This offer was received my mail and was posted along with the scanned image to this SlickDeals thread. To receive your $75 check, bring in the ad to your nearest banking center, mention the code MGCDC0106, and sign up for new checking account by 6/15/06. Limit one check per household. Offer doesn't apply to second or multiple checking accounts and/or existing checking customers.
It was discussed in the thread whether a printout of the scanned ad would be adequate. As is often the case, it will depend. If your local Bank of America won't accept a printout, you could open a new MyAccess checking account online at this link for $50. I posted on this offer couple of times last year, and it continues to be extended. The latest expiration date is 4/15/2006.
As is typical for Bank of America, there's a monthly fee. However, the fee is waived with direct deposit. ACH transfers from ING Direct or other banks may count as direct deposit based on some reports at fatwallet.

Blech. $75 and you can do this one in person instead of online!!! I had to spend 10 hours in the bank to get my initial deposits that I funded online to be credited, so I try to warn people about funding their new accounts online. I did get the $50 bonus, but I'm still a little sad.

Please note that, as I interpret it, not only MYAccess checking but also Regular Checking should qualify for the $75. Regular checking does not require direct deposit but $750 min. balance. But if you keep the account for 6 months this is still equivalent to 20% APR! I did this last year (with Regular Checking), very painless and quick.

Thanks everyone for your inputs. Seems like it's easy to get charged fees from BoA but difficult to get credited for promotions.

You know, just to throw my two cents in, I probably am the rare case however, every now and then Bank of America is OK, I agree you have to keep an eye out for charges, however, I got the 50.00 bonus with out even knowing I ws signing on for the promotion, when I called to check why I had an extra 50.00 in my account, they told me it was due to a promotion.
