5.58% 8-Month CD at a Florida Bank (open to all)

Harbor Federal Bank is offering a 5.58% APY 8-month certificate of deposit. There's a $5K minimum deposit requirement, and the CD requires a $500 minimum balance in a new or existing checking account. The bank does offer a free checking account without monthly service charges. The offer ends on June 30th. This special does not seem to be listed at the bank's website. It was advertised in the June 21st Daytona Beach Newspaper. The ad is available online here.

I had contacted Harbor Federal after its last CD special which had similar terms. I was told that they do accept account applications from out of state through their online application. Account funding can be done by wire (with fees) or by mail. Once the account is opened, you can sign up for their online access which provides transferring capabilities to and from other banks.

Harbor Federal has 40 branches on the east side of Central Florida.
