6.17% 33-Month CD at a Virginia CU (Fort Belvoir)

Fort Belvoir Federal Credit Union is offering a special 6.17% APY share certificate with a term of 33 months. The minimum required deposit is $1K, and 50% of the deposit must be money new to the credit union. The special ends June 30, 2006.

I had posted on a CD special from this credit union last December when they were offering a 5.25% 25-month CD which was very competitive back then.

The credit union's field of membership includes all those living, working, worhipping, or attending school in Southeastern Fairfax County, North Woodbridge, and Fort Belvoir, Virginia. It's also open to all active duty or retired members of the US Armed Forces.

The credit union has branches in Woodbridge and Alexandria, Virginia and several in Fort Belvoir.

The credit union is NCUA insured with $220 million in assets and 24K members.
