10% 10-Month CD at a Kansas CU (Medical Community).

Medical Community Credit Union is having a special called the Perfect 10 CD. It's a 10% APY 10-month certificate of deposit. The minimum and maximum is $1,000. New money is required, and only one CD per member is allowed. The offer is good through October 6th. The special doesn't seem to be listed at the credit union's website. It was advertised in The Wichita Eagle. The ad is available online here.

A true Perfect 10 CD would have had a maximum deposit limit of at least $10k. Due to the low maximum of $1k, you'll only make about $37 over what you would earn in a 5.50% APY 10-month CD. However, you can have a CD for each family member. Also on the plus side, it doesn't require a checking account.

The field of membership includes those who live or work in several Kansas counties or those who work various select employee groups related to healthcare.
