5.92% 12-Month CD at a California CU (Kerns Schools)

Kern Schools FCU is offering a 5.92% APY 12-month certificate. The minimum deposit is $1,000. At least 50% of the deposit must be money new to the credit union.

The CD has a bump up option that allows for one rate bump during the term. Considering that their regular 12-month certificate rate is only at 4.85% APY, this feature probably won't be too useful.

The field of membership includes those who live, work, worship or attend school in Kern County, California. Membership requires a $50 deposit into a share account.

Branches are located in the cities of Bakersfield, Delano, Ridgecrest and Tehachapi.

The credit union is NCUA insured. It has $1.6 billion in assets and 168k members.
