I read yesterday the Millennium Bank was giving 10% interest on Premium certificates. I can't find that post but I think it was by Banking Guy. Can you give me the link? Are there any banks in the US giving 10% on CD's?

I did some research into this non-FDIC foreign-based bank last year (see post).
Sometimes you'll find a bank or credit union offering a yield way above its competitors. Typically, there are maximum deposit limits, and these are only limited-time offers. These specials are used as loss leaders to bring in new customers. For example, a Dallas bank last spring had offered a 10% CD with a max deposit of $5k. It also required a checking account. It lasted about a month.
