Dallas Credit Union is having a CD promotion with a 6.00% APY 1-year certificate of deposit. The minimum to open is $5,000, and the money must be new to the credit union. The promotion lasts through December 31, 2006.
Dallas Credit Union also has referral program which gives you $25 for each person you refer who opens a savings account along with one other account (checking, money market account, IRA, loan, credit card or term certificate). That's an easy $25 if you join with your spouse.
The field of membership includes anyone who lives, works, studies or attends church in the Downtown Dallas area. See site for details. Membership requires a minimum $25 deposit into a savings account.
The credit union is NCUA insured. It has $34 million in assets and just over 5,000 members.
