Pacific Service Credit Union has a new special CD called the Triple-5 certificate with a yield of 5.55% APY and a term of 11 months. The minimum deposit is $1,000, and it requires money new to the credit union. It's available as a regular or IRA certificate.
It looks like Pacific Service ended its 7% 6-month 5K-max CD special which had been an ongoing special for much of last year. I had last reported on this in January.
Field of membership includes residents of the following California counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, Fresno, Marin, Napa, Placer, Sacramento, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano or Sonoma. You can also be eligible to join via select employer groups and via immediate family. See site for details.
Credit union membership requires a minimum $5 deposit into the savings account. There's a one-time membership fee of $5, but this will be paid by the credit union if you apply for membership online.
Branches are located in San Francisco, Pleasant Hill, Fresno and Vacaville. The credit union is federally insured by the NCUA. It has 68,000 members and $1.07 billion in assets.
Thanks to ille_vir who mentioned this new CD special in the finding deals post.
