5.65% 60-Month CD at a Texas CU (Greater Texas FCU)

Greater Texas Federal Credit Union has some competitive long term share certificate rates. The highest rate is the 60-month term with a yield of 5.65% APY. The 3 and 4 year CDs have a yield of 5.39% APY and the 1 year to 30-month CDs have a yield of 5.29% APY. All have a minimum deposit of $1,000. IRA certificates have the same rates.

From my last report of this credit union I had inquired about the early withdrawal penalties. I was told that the early withdrawal penalty equals interest from half of the CD term for the amount to be withdrawn. Partial withdrawals won't close the CD as long as the balance remains above $1K.
