5.45% 6-Month / 5.45% 24-Month CD at an Illinois CU (Baxter)

Baxter Credit Union (BCU) is offering a special 5.45% APY certificate with terms from 6 to 24 months. The minimum deposit is $500.

This credit union seems to frequently have CD specials. The last one I reported on was in March when it was offering a 5.75% 13-month CD.

Field of membership includes those who live or work in Lake, McHenry, DuPage, Kane or parts of Cook County, Illinois or in Kenosha County, Wisconsin or in Village of Schaumburg, Illinois. You can also be eligible via select employer groups and via family (including extended family). Membership requires a minimum $5 balance in the savings account.

The credit union is federally insured by the NCUA (Charter # 68187). It's a large credit union with $1.26 billion in assets and 128,569 members.
