5.50% 5-Month CD at a California Bank Continues (PFF Bank and Trust)

PFF Bank & Trust continues to offer a 5.50% APY 5-month certificate of deposit. The minimum deposit is $1,000, and it requires new money. It's only available to residents of Califorinia, but anyone in California can apply either at a branch or by calling PFF at 1-888-342-5733.

I had first posted on this special last month in additition to a grand opening branch special. The promo link that I had included in that post is no longer valid. PFF was advertising this 5-month CD special in yesterday's SoCal newspapers. The ad is available online here. I just called and confirmed that it's still available.

Branches are located in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino counties. The bank is FDIC insured (FDIC Certificate # 28344). PFF Bank & Trust is rated 3 out of 5 stars (performing) at Bankrate.com.
