5.35% 7-Month / 5.20% 27-Month CD at a California CU (Orange County)

Orange County's Credit Union has some competitive rates on its certificate specials with a yield of 5.35% APY for a 7-month term and a yield of 5.20% APY for a 15 and 27 month term. The minimum deposit is $100K. Certificates with a minimum deposit of $25K and $1K have yields that are 5 and 10 basis points lower. These certificates are also available in an IRA.

Membership is open to all residents of Orange County, California as well as individuals who live or work in the County and the communities of Long Beach, Signal Hill, Lakewood, and Cerritos. Please refer to their become-a-member page for more details. Membership requires a one-time fee of $10.00. In addition, a minimum deposit of $25 into a savings account and/or a minimum deposit of $100 into a checking account is required.

The credit union is currently having a new member promotion in which they'll waive the $10 membership fee. This is a refer-a-friend promotion in which both the new and existing member can earn up to $40 when the new member signs up for a checking account and other related services.

Branches are located in Anaheim, Buena Park, Fountain Valley, Fullerton, Lake Forest, Long Beach, Mission Viejo and Santa Ana. The credit union is federally insured by the NCUA (Certificate # 68416). It has $853.6 million in assets and 82,246 members.
