5.75% 60-Month CD at an Ohio Credit Union (CES)

CES Credit Union is offering a 5.75% APY 60-month share certificate. The minimum deposit is $500. The rate table had an August date, so I called today and verified that this rate was still available. The rep wasn't sure how long it may last.

I had first posted on this credit union last July when the 60-month CD yield was 6%. Even though it has gone down, it's still a very good yield in today's rate environment. The certificates page does a good job at providing all of the details. Dividends are paid each calendar quarter and at maturity. The dividends can be paid by check, transfered to another account or compounded back to the certificate. The early withdrawal penalty for terms over one year is 6 months of interest.

Membership is open to those who live, work, worship or attend school in either Knox, Delaware or Licking counties of central Ohio. Please refer to the credit union's membership page for the full details. Membership requires a minimum deposit of $5 into the share savings account.

Branches are located in Mount Vernon, Delaware, Loudonville and Utica, Ohio. The credit union is federally insured by the NCUA (Charter # 62352). It has $103 million in assets and 18,423 members.
