Bank of America $100 Credit Card Bonus

POSTED ON BY

Bank of America
Update 1/10/08: This promotion seems to have ended. The promo page is no longer available.

This promotion is not the hot $250 deal that came out last July, but it's better than what Bank of America has on it's credit card page. Here's the $100 application page. Sign up for this Bank of America Rewards American Express Credit Card and receive a $100 statement credit after making a purchase totaling $25 within 45 days of the account open date. The credit card has no annual fee. Credit for this find goes to this FW thread. Note, some people have reported problems with the online application. The Help Center of the application states that you can also apply by phone (1-800-932-2775). Be sure to mention priority code FAB49I.

Below are some of the terms and conditions listed for this promo.
§§ To qualify for this offer, your new account must be used to make any purchase, balance transfer or cash advance transaction totaling $25 excluding any transaction fees, if applicable within 45 days of the account open date. Limit one (1) statement credit per new account. The Bank of America Rewards American Express Card credit card offer is subject to application approval by FIA Card Services, N.A. After qualifying transaction(s), a $100 credit will appear on your Bank of America Bank of America Rewards American Express Card credit card statement. Allow 8-12 weeks from qualifying to receive the promotional credit.

Note that the promotional page is at applyonlinenow.com instead of BankofAmerica.com. This seems to be a standard credit card application site used by Bank of America. If you click on the apply-now button at this Bank of America credit card page it'll take you to a similar applyonlinenow.com webpage.

Bank of America also has a $100 checking account bonus that still seems to be available. Please refer to this post for more info, and please refer to my recent Bank of America deals page for more deals.

I was going to open a checking account to receive the $100.00 until I read the fine print. Fees vary from state to state and in my state (Tennessee) Bank of America charges $5.95 per month unless I have direct deposit. I have direct deposit with another bank that is an interest bearing checking account, so I would lose money in the long run if I switched my direct deposit. I would suggest to anyone interested in opening this particular checking account to read the fees for the state in which they live.

I did apply and got approved for the credit card with the $100.00 bonus. Now let’s hope Bank of America will pay without too much of a fight.

I applied for the 25,000 points promotion in July 07 and am still trying to collect. I have spoken to over 15 customer service reps and 3 managers who don't know why I haven't been credited or say they show no record of the promotion until I send them a screenshot of the original website and the promotion code (FABHTN) as proof. Today I was told the matter is being escalated and will take up to another 30 days to resolve. If not resolved, I will be submitting a complaint with the BBB, which several other customers have done to force Bank of America to honor its promotions. Buyer beware!
