Update 2/2/08: The yields on the special 5-month CD have fallen to 5.00% APY for a $10K minimum and 4.75% APY for a $1K minimum.

Central State Credit Union is offering a special 5-month certificate with a yield of 5.15% APY. The minimum deposit is $10,000. The yield is 5.00% APY for a $1,000 minimum. The special requires you to already have a Central State checking account or you must open a new checking account with Direct Deposit.

I had reported on several CD deals last year from this credit union with yields up to 6%.

Membership is open to those who live, work or worship in San Joaquin or Calaveras County, California. Please see their Membership page for the full details. Membership requires a $5 fee and a minimum $5 deposit in the savings account.

Branches are located in cities of Stockton, Lodi, San Andreas and Angels Camp. The credit union is federally insured by the NCUA (Charter # 60363). It has $142 million in assets and 21,156 members.
