4.50% 55-Month CD at a Florida Bank (Third Federal Savings & Loan).

Third Federal Savings & Loan is offering a special 4.50% APY 55-month CD. The minimum deposit is $500. This CD doesn't seem to be listed at the bank's website. A reader commented that it was advertised in today's Palm Beach Post. I called the bank at their toll-free number (1-800-844-7333) for more details. According to the CSR, this is available in Florida but rates may differ for outside of Florida. You can open the CD at a branch or by phone. The special CD does not have any requirements like a checking account. The CSR didn't know how long this special would last.

Florida branches are located throughout South Florida. The bank has been FDIC insured since 1938 (FDIC Certificate # 30012).
