5.00% 6-Month CD at a Georgia Bank (Integrity Bank).

POSTED ON BY

Update 8/29/08: The bank has been closed by regulators. See post for more details.

Update 3/6/08: The CD yield has fallen to 4.00% APY.

Integrity Bank has a 6-month special certificate of deposit with a yield of 5.00% APY. The minimum deposit is $1,000.

This bank has been offering high yield CDs for some time now. My last report on them was in August 2007 when they were offering a 5.90% 10-month CD.

Their website states that they do not accept out of state funds. The bank has branches in the Georgia cities of Alpharetta, Roswell, Smyrna, Duluth, and Cumming. All of these cities are just north of Atlanta.

The bank has been FDIC insured since 2000 (Certificate # 35469). It has a safe and sound rating of 1 out of 5 stars (lowest rated) at Bankrate.com based on 9/30/07 data. Their ratings have been sliding. In my last report in August they had 3 stars based on 3/31/07 data, and in my January 2007, they had 4 stars.
