Update 2/23/08: The rates have gone down. Please check the institution's website for the latest rates.
Baptist Credit Union continues to have high rates on its certificates. The rates have declined some since my January post, but they're still very competitive. The highest yield is 5.01% APY for the 2 and 3 year terms and 5.00% APY for the one year term. The 4 and 5 year terms have yields of 4.75% APY and 4.95% APY. The minimum deposit is $500.
Credit union membership is open to members of churches belonging to the San Antonio Baptist Association and the Dallas Baptist Association. It also includes other employee groups. Please refer to their Membership page for more details. Membership requires a minimum $25 deposit into the share savings account.
Branches are located in San Antonio and Dallas, Texas. The credit union is federally insured by the NCUA (Charter # 68358). It has $21.9 million in assets and 7,375 members.
