3.75% 9-Month / 4.00% 27-Month CD at a North Carolina CU (Summit)

Summit Credit Union is offering some attractive rates on its certificate specials. These include a 4.25% APY for a 9-month term and 4.00% APY for a 27 and 39 month term. These are their Jumbo rates which require a minimum deposit of $25,000. The rates are 25 basis points lower for a $500 minimum deposit. These same rates are also availble in an IRA certificate.

Membership is limited to employees, retirees or students of several North Carolina businesses and universities. You can also be eligible to join via family (including cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles). Please refer to their Membership page for the full details. Membership requires a minimum deposit of $25 in the Membership Share account.

Branches are located in Greensboro, Winston-Salem, Hickory and Raleigh. The credit union is federally insured by the NCUA (Charter # 63020). It has $94.7 million in assets and 18,803 members.
