3.51% Reward Checking Account at an Illinois Bank (First Robinson Savings)

Update 9/07/09: The top rate has fallen to 3.51% APY.

First Robinson Savings Bank N.A. has a reward checking account called Kasasa Cash that pays 3.51% APY on balances up to $25,000 (1.01% for above) and refunds ATM fees if the following monthly requirements are met: 1) 10 debit card transactions, 2) pay one bill payment online, and 3) receive account statements electronically. If these are not met, the rate falls to 0.25%. There are no minimum balance requirements and no monthly fees.

The bank lists the following restriction for new accounts:
Accounts available to residents of our primary market area Crawford Co. IL and Knox Co. IN and their surrounding counties

Branches are located in Robinson, Oblong and Palestine, Illinois. The bank has been a FDIC member since 1954 (Certificate # 28105).

Accounts appear restricted to those within the primary market areas of Crawford Co. IL and Knox Co. IN.

As of 5/22/09 the top yield has dropped to 4.51% APY. Other rates remain same.
