Update 4/10/09: The bank has been closed by regulators. Please refer to this post for more details.

Update 5/17/08: These CD specials have ended.

Update 4/19/08: The rates actually went up! The new rates for these specials include: 4.65% APY 60-month, 4.50% APY 12-month and 4.25% APY 9-month. The title has been modified to reflect this change.

New Frontier Bank has some high rates on its special CDs. The rates are down from my February post, but they're still competitive. The specials include a 3.90% APY 9-month CD, a 4.10% APY 12-month CD and a 4.30% APY 5-year CD. The minimum deposit is $1,000, and the maximum is $95,000. These specials are listed in the bank's CD rate table.

A reader in a previous post was told by the bank that an office visit is necessary to open an account. Branches are located in the Colorado cities of Greeley, Windsor and Longmont which are located north of Denver. The bank has been FDIC insured since 1998 (FDIC Certificate # 34881). It has a 2 out of 5 star rating (below peer group) at Bankrate.com based on 12/31/07 data.
