Update 5/3/08: The 12-mo CD yield has fallen from 4.50% to 4.25% APY. The title has been changed.
Update 4/12/08: The CD rates have fallen. Most rate drops were on the shorter terms. CD terms of 36-months and longer are still at 5.00% APY. The new 12, 18 and 24 month yields are 4.50%, 4.55% and 4.60% APY. The title has been modified to reflect this change.

New Hampshire Federal Credit Union continues to offer high rates on its certificates. The highest rate is the 24-month CD with a yield of 5.10% APY. There 18-month CD has a 5.05% APY, and all the other terms 12-months and longer have a yield of 5.00% APY. The minimum deposit is $500. These are also available in an IRA.

I had last reported on these CDs with the same rates in February. With 5% CD rates being so rare these days, I felt it deserved another post. Unfortunately, membership is narrow. For other 5% CD deals with with broader access, please see my Saturday's weekly rate recap.

Membership is primarily based on Select Employee Groups of New Hampshire governments and businesses. Please see their How-to-Join page for the full details.

Branches are located in Concord and Durham, NH. The credit union is federally insured by the NCUA (Charter # 4746). It has $166.6 million in assets and 21,589 members.

Thanks for your help in placing funds for optimum return.

To save time in needless copy reading suggest in your initial rate posting you rate membership requirements as--very restricted--moderate--open--or something to save unnecessary search time
