3.80% 6-Month CD at a California CU - Easy Membership (E-Central)

Update 7/12/08: The CD special yield has gone up to 3.80% APY, but this requires a checking account. The title has been modified to reflect this change.

E-Central Credit Union is offering a special 3.75% APY 6-month certificate. The minimum deposit is $5,000.

My last report on this credit union was in January when they were offering a 5.10% 9-month CD (before the Fed made those big rate cuts).

Membership is open to anyone who belongs to another credit union. I'm not sure if there are additional requirements for this, but this is what is stated in the credit union's Eligibility page. You can also qualify if you live, work, worship, or attend school in one of many California cities. Please refer to the eligibility page for the full details. Membership requires a $5 fee and a $25 minimum deposit in your savings account.

Branches are located in Pasadena and Los Angeles, California. The credit union is federally insured by the NCUA (Charter # 62323). It has $171.1 million in assets and 22,105 members.
