Free Reward Checking Account at Legence Bank in IL/IN

Legence Bank is offering a reward checking account that pays 3.25% APY on balances up to $25,000 (0.50% for above) and refunds ATM fees if the following monthly requirements are met:

• 10 debit card purchases
• 1 direct deposit, ACH debit or online bill pay
• access online banking
• receive statements electronically

If these are not met, the rate falls to 0.25%. There are no minimum balances and no service charges.

There's an online application, but in the first page of the application it states "we ask that you complete your new account opening with an in-branch visit." Branches are located in Eldorado and Equality, Illinois and in Evansville, Indiana. The bank has been FDIC insured since 1934 (FDIC Certificate # 10886).
