$100 Checking Account Bonus at Bank of the West

Bank of the West has a checking account promotion in which you can earn up to $100. As is typical with these bonuses, there are a few hoops to jump through to earn the full $100:

• $25 for opening a new free checking account
• $25 for using your debit card 10 times
• $25 for signing up for direct deposit
• $25 for using online bill pay

Some of the important small print includes:

• Checking must be opened by November 1, 2008 with $100
• Offer available only for accounts opened in-branch
• Eligible debit card transactions must be signed for and posted to your account within 45 days of account opening
• Establish a monthly direct deposit of at least $100 to your new account. First one must take place within 60 days of account opening
• Limit of one $100 bonus per household per year
• Bonus may be revoked if the account is closed within the first six months of opening
• Bonus reported to the IRS on Form 1099
