$100 Checking Account Bonus at Provident Bank

Provident Bank has a $100 checking promotion. The new checking account must be opened by 11/21/08, and the customer must have direct deposit and a Provident MasterMoney debit card by 12/31/08. Here are some important details from the small print:

- Offer only available to residents of DC, MD, PA, VA or WV
- Limit one per household
- Minimum opening deposit of $25
- Cash award will be deposited into checking accounts on or about 1/31/09
- Customers will be responsible for applicable taxes

Does anyone know what counts as "direct deposit"?

I would also like to know whether they count ACH push (ING, Etrade) as direct deposit. Anybody have any experience?
