Sweet. I'm glad I got lazy over the weekend and didn't open one up. Thanks for the heads up Ken!

What is a valid direct deposit?
Can I just make a ACH from another bank?
Thanks

Hey, they're willing to give you $200 here. Why not do a REAL direct deposit, like they obviously intend?

Probably because that person, like me, is self-employed and can't do a 'real' "direct deposit".
Think before you post.

you: OK, To get this bonus it takes a ACH Direct Deposit of $250 or more correct?
you: takes an ACH
Katie: yes that is correct. You need to make that deposit within the first 60 days of opening the account
you: OK, I checked with my employer and they won't split my direct deposit up anymore... If I split it thru an outside bank to bank transfer and its ACH will that be sufficient?
Katie: yes, that will work
Katie: any type of ACH will work

some of us are currently unemployed & can't make a 'real' "direct deposit" too.

National City just got bought out by PNC. Will they still pay out the bonus?

Is an online transfer from Etrade or ING considered ACH?

Bummer. They only allow me to make my initial deposit via another National City account, mail, or at the branch.
I think the security was asking me questions about my grandfather that I had no idea. I hope that doesn't come back to bite my application.

The revised promo has to be a direct deposit via switch service, so a regular ACH would not work.

Look like National City fucked me...I opened an account on 10/31/08...the deposit came through a couple weeks later which apparently made me inelgible for the promo. Looks like they will squeeze every penny out of you and fuck you good.
