Homewood Federal Savings Bank is offering a 15-month CD with a yield of 4.25% APY. Minimum deposit is $10,000.

It appears that a branch visit may be required to open an account. It's a small bank with one office located in Baltimore, Maryland.

The bank has some solid financial ratings for soundness: 5 stars (superior) at BauerFinancial and 4 stars (sound) at Bankrate.com. Both ratings are based on 6/30/08 data. The bank has been FDIC insured since 1962 (FDIC Certificate # 31267).
