Ohio Valley Community Credit Union is offering a 4.07% APY 18-month certificate. Minimum deposit is $1,000 for the regular CD and $500 for an IRA CD. This rate is listed in the credit union's rate table as of 1/29/09. At the top of the page it states the effective date for the CD rates is 1/28/09, so hopefully this rate will last for a while.

Membership is open to anyone who lives, works, attends school or worships in Monroe, Belmont and Washington Counties in Ohio. Please refer to the credit union's Who Can Join Page for more details.

Branches are located in the Ohio cities of Clarington, St. Clairsville, Woodsfield and Marietta.

The credit union has some decent ratings for soundness: 3 stars (performing) at and 5 stars (superior) at BauerFinancial. Both ratings are based on 9/30/08 financial data. The credit union is federally insured by the NCUA (Charter # 60913).
