5.00% 15-Month $10K-Max CD at United Consumers Credit Union in Missouri

POSTED ON BY

United Consumers Credit Union
United Consumers Credit Union is offering a certificate of deposit promotion called the 5-10-15 CD. The APY is 5%, the maximum deposit is $10,000 and the term is 15 months. Money must be new to the credit union. This promotion is listed in the credit union's promotion page as of 1/13/09. I called yesterday, and I was told it could end at any time.

The low maximum deposit hurts this deal, but it's better than many other low-cap specials. You'll earn about $150 more in this CD than investing the $10K in a 3.75% 15-month CD.

Membership is open to anyone living, working or worshipping in Jackson County, Buchanan County or the city of Cameron. Refer to the credit union's How To Join Page for more details.

Branches are located in the Missouri cities of Independence, Kansas City, St. Joseph and Raytown.

The credit union has some strong ratings for soundness: 5 stars (superior) at BauerFinancial and 4 stars (sound) at Bankrate. Both ratings are based on 9/30/08 financial data. The credit union is federally insured by the NCUA (Charter # 68410).
