3.25% Reward Checking Account at People's Community FCU in Washington State

Update 7/04/09: The top rate has fallen to 3.25% APY.

People's Community FCU is offering a reward checking account called Loyalty Checking. It pays 3.25% APY on balances up to $50,000 (0.25% for above) and refunds ATM surcharges (up to $100 per month) if the following monthly requirements are met:

• 10 debit card purchases
• 3 CU@Home and/or Bill Pay transactions
• Deposits of at least $350
• monthly eStatements

If these are not met, the rate falls to 0.25%. Minimum opening deposit is $100. The credit union also has a Loyalty Savings account with a 7.50% APY on the first $750.

Membership is open to those who live, work or worship in Clark, Cowlitz or Skamania counties. Refer to the credit union's Eligibility Page for more details. Membership requires a minimum $5 balance in the Carefree Savings account. There's an online application that allows electronic funding.

Branches are located in Vancouver and Battle Ground, Washington. The credit union is federally insured by the NCUA (Charter # 24713).
