Checking Account Bonus up to $150 at Valley National Bank in New Jersey - Local Only

Valley National Bank
Update 9/04/09: Promotion ended on September 1, 2009.

Valley National Bank is offering a promotion called Go Green in which you can earn up to a $150 bonus. It does require some work. Below is part of the bank's small print which describes the details of the offer:
You are eligible for up to a $150 cash reward when you open a new Valley Rewards Perfect Checking Account with either direct deposit, debit card and/or online banking services. Required transactions within the first 60 days of account opening to qualify for cash rewards: $50 after 5 checks or in-person transactions; $50 after first direct deposit; $25 after 5 debit card transactions; $25 after 3 online merchant bill payments. Cash rewards will be credited within 90 days of account opening and may be reportable as taxable income.

According to the promotion page, not all of the bank's branches may honor this promotion. There's a list of about two dozen cities where the offer should be available. Branches are located in New Jersey and New York.

CD Special: Last week I posted on a new-branch CD special that this bank was offering in Brooklyn (see post).

Valley National Bank is a member FDIC (FDIC Certificate # 9396).
