The Dime Bank is offering a special 2.05% APY 9-month CD. Minimum deposit is $10,000. This rate is listed at the bank's rates page as of 10/22/09.

It appears that a branch visit is required to open an account. Branches are located northeast Pennsylvania in the cities of Honesdale, Hawley, Damascus, Greentown and Dingmans Ferry.

The bank's ratings for safety and soundness are above average: 4 stars (excellent) at BauerFinancial and 3 stars (performing) at Bankrate.com. Both ratings are based on 6/30/09 financial data. The bank has been a FDIC member since 1934 (FDIC Certificate # 9888).
