Austin Bank of Chicago
Update 11/11/2009: It has been reported that this special has ended.

Austin Bank of Chicago is offering a 2.33% APY guaranteed to 3/01/2010 on its interest checking account. Minimum balance is $5,000, and the maximum is $250,000. This promotion doesn't seem to be listed at the bank's website. It was advertised on 11/06/09 in the My Suburban Life Publication. The ad is available online here.

It appears that a branch visit is required to open an account. Branches are located in Chicago and Bensenville.

The bank's ratings for safety and soundness are a little weak: 3 stars (adequate) at BauerFinancial and 2 stars (below peer group) at Bankrate.com. Both ratings are based on 6/30/09 financial data. The bank has been a FDIC member since 1934 (FDIC Certificate # 11694).
