Advantage Federal Credit Union is offering a very competitive 5-year term share and IRA certificate with a 3.70% APY. This is listed in the credit union's share certificates rates page as of 1/24/2010.

The credit union also has a good deal on its Smart Money Checking. The top rate is 2.00% APY as of 1/24/2010 for balances of at least $75K.

Membership is open to those who live, work, worship, volunteer, or attend school in the City of Rochester, New York. Please refer to the credit union's eligibility page for the full details. Membership requires a $1 fee and a minimum balance of $5 in a share account.

The credit union's ratings for safety and soundness are strong: 5 stars (superior) at BauerFinancial and 4 stars (sound) at Bankrate.com. Both ratings are based on 9/30/09 financial data. The credit union is federally insured by the NCUA (Charter # 24181).
