Top Long-Term CD Rates at TruService Community Credit Union in Arkansas - Local Only

POSTED ON BY

Truservice Community Credit Union

It’s not easy to find 3.00% CD rates these days. They have become very rare in the last year especially for terms of 5 years and under. There are a few out there, and I found one at TruService Community Credit Union which is offering a 3.04% APY 5-year CD and IRA CD. There’s also a competitive 3-year CD with a 2.02% APY. Minimum deposit is $500. These rates are listed in the credit union’s rates page as of 5/23/2011.

Credit union membership is open to anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in Pulaski or Faulkner Counties, Arkansas. Please refer to the credit union’s How To Join page for the full details.

TruService Community Credit Union branches are located in Little Rock, Conway and North Little Rock, AR. Note, the branch at Conway is restricted to students and staff of Hendrix College.

The credit union has an overall health score at DepositAccounts.com of 3 stars (out of 5) with a Texas Ratio of 11.68% (above average) based on December 2010 data. Please refer to our financial overview of TruService Community Credit Union for more details. The credit union is federally insured by the NCUA (Charter # 24390).

How It Compares to the Best Nationally Available CD Rates

As of 5/23/2011 the highest 5-year CD rate available nationwide is 3.00% APY at Connexus Credit Union. This requires an active checking account. The second best is still Melrose Credit Union which is offering a 2.93% APY 5-year CD.

As I described in my latest survey of local CD rates, you can often get higher rates at a local credit union or bank. To search for these along with the best nationwide CD rates, please refer to the CD rates section of DepositAccounts.com.

I have held CDs at this credit union.  They usually offer rates that are very good compared to other banks and credit unions (especially in the local area).  This used to be a credit union for postal workers and, although not a big credit union, they gave me a great rate on 5-year CDs (which matured a couple of years ago).  Still have a savings and checking account there and have been thinking of opening a new 5-year CD (or two) at the 3.04% APY (which has been in effect for a few months now).
