Add-On CD & Savings Account Promo at NMTW Community Credit Union in MA & NH - Local Only

NMTW Community Credit Union continues to offer two good deposit deals. The first is a 33-month add-on CD with a 1.50% APY (1.60% APY for the IRA). Minimum deposit is $500, and it allows two additional deposits to be made during the term of the CD. There's also a 13-month add-on CD but the rate is not really competitive at 0.75% APY. These rates are listed in the credit union's rates and fees page as of 6/22/2011.

Good Add-On CD Rates Hard to Find

Those who opened this 33-month CD last year when the APY was 2.45% are probably glad of their decision. Add-on CDs are a great hedge against falling rates. That may be why add-on CDs with decent rates have become rare. For example, Northwest Federal Credit Union's 2-year add-on CDs has a rate of only 1.00%, and Amboy Direct's 1-year add-on CD has a rate of only 1.10%.

Super Saver Account Promotion

The credit union still has a good deal on its Super Saver Account promotion. The credit union will reward you $100 after 12 months of $100 monthly deposits into the account. The catch is that you must open a checking account. Three debit card transactions per month are required along with a $100 initial deposit and a monthly deposit of $100.

There's also a nice refer-a-friend bonus in which both you and the new member receive $25.

Membership is open to anyone who lives, works, or attends school in Middlesex or Essex Counties in Massachusetts, several cities and towns within Norfolk and Worcester Counties in Massachusetts, and Rockingham and Hillsborough Counties in New Hampshire.
