California is another state where it's hard to find top CD rates. I'm always on the lookout for a bank or credit union in a large populated area of California with at least moderately competitive rates. I came across one today at California Community Bank in Southern California. Its most competitive CD is the 2-year CD with a 1.56% APY. Some of other moderately competitive rates include a 2.43% APY 5-year CD and a 1.26% APY 18-month CD. Minimum deposit is $2,500. They also list Jumbo CD rates, but they aren't any higher. These rates are listed at the bank's rates page as of 8/11/2011.
