Competitive CD Rates at Texas Brand Bank in Dallas Metro - Local Only

Feb 17, 2012 - 9:32 AM by Ken Tumin

Texas Brand Bank is advertising three CD specials with competitive rates. These include a 1.20% APY 18-month CD, a 1.35% APY 2-year CD and a 1.50% APY 3-year CD. Minimum deposit is $50,000. These don't seem to be listed on the bank's website. They were advertised in Tuesday's Dallas Morning News (2/14/2012). The ad is available online here. The ad states that the "offer expires February 28, 2012 at 4:00pm".

In a previous post a reader noted that the bank does not accept out-of-state deposits. It appears a branch visit is required. The bank's office is located in Garland, Texas which is in the northeast suburbs of Dallas.

Texas Brand Bank is a small bank with just under $92 million in assets based on September 2011 data. The bank has been a FDIC member since 2005 (FDIC Certificate # 57922).

How These CD Rates Compare

The best 18-month CD rate that's nationally available is 1.20% APY at KeySource Commercial Bank. The best 2-year and 3-year CD rates are 1.36% APY and 1.86% APY at Melrose Credit Union. These rates are accurate as of 2/17/2012.
