ONB Bank and Trust Company is offering a $100 bonus for opening its MyChoice Checking Account. Unlike the typical checking account bonus, this one should be easy to earn. The only potential gotcha that I see is that the MyChoice Checking isn't a free checking account.
Refer to the bank's promotion page for the full details. The promotion is scheduled to last until 10/31/2012.
According to the instructions, you can open the MyChoice Checking Account at a ONB Bank location or online using promotional code: Get$100. I don't see any requirement in the application that you have to reside in the bank's market area. However, I have a feeling you may not get approved if you live outside of Oklahoma.
Below is the bank's small print for this offer:
Minimum to open MyChoice Checking account $50. No minimum balance required to receive incentive for MyChoice Checking. Incentive for opening MyChoice Checking is $100. Incentive is reported to the IRS as interest. Incentive will be deposited to the MyChoice Checking account within ten business days after the account is opened. Available to new checking account customers only. If checking account is closed within first 90 days a fee may be imposed. Promotion ends 10/31/12.
As I mentioned above, MyChoice Checking isn't a free checking account. It has a $3 monthly maintenance fee. This can be waived with an average daily balance of at least $750, or direct deposit, or monthly transfer between MyChoice Checking and SaveUp Savings, or at least 10 debit card purchases.
ONB Bank and Trust branches are located in the Oklahoma cities of Tulsa, Edmond, Owasso, Sapulpa and Stillwater.
ONB Bank and Trust is part of the bank holding company Central Bancompany which has several community banks. Most of them are in Missouri. I found two of these Missouri banks with similar checking account bonuses. I posted on them in the checking account subforum.
ONB Bank and Trust has an overall health score at DepositAccounts.com of 3 stars (out of 5) with a Texas ratio of 18.50% (average) based on June 2012 data. Please refer to our financial overview of ONB Bank and Trust for more details. The bank has been a FDIC member since 2000 (FDIC Certificate # 35348).
