Top 1-Year CD Rate at Central Missouri Community Credit Union

POSTED ON BY

Central Missouri Community Credit Union recently made a large increase to its 12-month CD rate. In fact, it was so large, that I was suspicious that it might be a mistake. However, I received confirmation from the credit union that the increase is correct. The new 1-year CD has a 1.26% APY. This rate is actually higher than the credit union’s 5-year CD rate. Minimum deposit is $1,000. This rate is listed in the credit union’s share certificates rates page as of 6/11/2013.

Credit union membership is open to anyone working or residing in Johnson, Pettis, Ray, Carroll, Lafayette, and Henry counties and the city of Excelsior Springs. For full details please refer to the credit union’s Who-Can-Join page.

Branches are located in the Missouri cities of Warrensburg, Sedalia and Richmond.

The credit union has an overall health score at DepositAccounts.com of 4 stars (out of 5) with a Texas ratio of 9.32% (above average) based on December 2012 data. Please refer to our financial overview of Central Missouri Community Credit Union for more details. The credit union is federally insured by the NCUA (Charter # 60383).

How This CD Rate Compares

It’s getting difficult finding 1-year CD rates over 1.00%. The best 1-year CD rate that’s nationally available is 1.16% APY at State Bank of India - Chicago. This requires a $95K minimum deposit, and it can only be opened at the branch or by mail. The best 1-year CD rate that’s available from an internet bank is 1.05% APY at GE Capital Retail Bank (formerly MetLife Bank). This requires a $25K minimum deposit.
