M&T Bank’s $100 Checking Account Bonus in Some States

POSTED ON BY

M&T Bank

M&T Bank has long been offering promotions for its MyChoice Checking account. In the latest one you can earn a $100 cash bonus for opening the MyChoice Checking Account and setting up direct deposit. The promotion is scheduled to last until 6/27/2014. Please refer to the bank’s promotions page for the full details.

The offer’s small print has the details about the direct deposit requirements and what qualifies as direct deposit:

We will credit one bonus (the "Bonus) to the account if the account receives a minimum of one direct deposit in the amount of at least $100 within 90 days of account opening. Qualifying direct deposits include, but are not limited to, electronic deposits such as payroll or Social Security and do not include electronic money transfers or credits such as account-to-account transfers or those made through internet payment services.

MyChoice Checking is not a free checking account. According to the MyChoice Checking page, there's a $6.95 monthly fee unless you maintain an average daily balance of at least $500 or unless you make 10 or more check card purchases or make total direct deposits of $200.

Availability

This promotion is not available in all regions. To see if it’s available in your area, go to M&T Bank’s home page, and click "enter your zip code" under the home page image. If your zip code is not in an eligible region, you won’t see the $100 offer. Instead you’ll just see "MyChoice Checking" in the tab of the image. You should see "$100 MyChoice Checking" in the tab if you’re in an eligible region.

Why is New Jersey nj listed as having branches of M&T Bank?? they do not!?
Only after the M&T Bank completes its acquisition and merger of Hudson City Savings Bank will there be branches in New Jersey, New York, and maybe few in Connecticut.
