You can create aliases and disposable addresses. [...] you can establish up to five aliases, so you can send mail from a variety of firstname.lastname@example.org
It can be useful to provide banks a different email address than you provide to friends and websites that don't have your important information. If a bank sends you a message and it's not using your bank email address, you know there's something suspicious.
