2011 FDIC National Survey - 29% Don't Have Savings Accounts
Here are a few of the interesting stats mentioned in this FDIC survey:
I would assume those people who reported they didn't have a savings account probably don't have CDs or investment accounts. It shows that many people have little or no savings.
29.3 percent of households do not have a savings account, while about 10 percent do not have a checking account. About two-thirds of households have both checking and savings accounts.Read more
