Using Your Cellphone To Deposit Checks

This Oakland Tribune article provides an interesting overview of the new services that allow depositing checks from smartphones. Much of the article covers Patelco Credit Union's service:

while some of the big banks, such as Wells and Chase, oblige their customers to download an app, Patelco does not. It has configured its system so customers can become deposit shutterbugs right away without getting an app.
