Ally Bank's Loyalty Rewards Program FYI

This is just a reminder that Ally Bank's Loyalty Rewards program for CD renewals is still available. The extra rate for the CD is still 0.25% if you decide to renew. Ally doesn't describe this program on its website.You are typically informed about the program when your Ally CD is near maturity.

A reader informed me of a chat he had with an Ally CSR in which he was told that the current program is in effect through December 31, 2012. The CSR said “To my knowledge we have no plans to extend the loyalty reward at this time.” However, I think it's very likely to be continued based on the program's history.

I reviewed the Ally Bank Loyalty Rewards Program in April. Were you offered a loyalty bonus when your last Ally Bank CD matured?

I had complained to Ally several months back about this and a few
months later things changed. After you login to your ALLY account
there's now a note at the bottom of the page stating
"Renew your CD and get a .25% increase on your new rate"
and clicking it details things along with the current termination
date.
