Inflation And Food Prices - Cost Of Thanksgiving Dinner
The American Farm Bureau Federation released its annual estimate of the price of a classic Thanksgiving dinner. According to the AFBF, the cost increased from $49.20 last year to $49.48 this year. That's only an increase of 0.57%.

In October, the American Institute for Economic Research (AIER) reported its Everyday Price Index (EPI) which includes food but not items rarely purchased like TVs. Here's how EPI has changed this year along with the conventional CPI:
According to the EPI, everyday prices have increased 5.2 percent so far this year—about three times the 1.9 percent increase that the seasonally adjusted CPI shows over the same period.
