Capital One Is Expanding ING DIRECT Cafes

ING DIRECT never had any branches, but it did have cafes. These are more like Starbucks than bank branches. They don't accept deposits, and there are no tellers.

It appears that Capital One will not only keep the existing ING DIRECT cafes, but it's also expanding them. According to this Boston Globe article, Capital One will be opening six cafes in late 2013 in the Boston area to "promote its growing online banking division."

Have you been to an ING DIRECT cafe? I wonder if the coffee prices are cheaper than Starbucks.
