I was sorry as well to see Alliant drop their rates, as I'd opened up accounts with them (savings and HSA) just a few months ago. However, I still like them. Most services are fee-free (HSA: totally free, free checks, free debit card, no fees for account, etc), free credit score given out on a quarterly basis (no hard pull), 24/7 customer support, online banking that's simple and works well.. I still think they're the best out there for those who have HSAs. And heck, 0.70% is still competitive for normal savings rate. If I put $5 in an Alliant account, I get .70%. If I have $15,000 in Navy Fed Money Market, you only get .45%. No one likes rate cuts, and if they cut further, I might consider moving, but for right now I still think it's quite fair, competitive, and an all-around great CU.
